Kelsey Lessard DNP, APRN, CNP is a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner at the Nucleus Clinic.
Her presentation will include information on:

The mechanism of action, efficacy, side effects, indications, and contraindications of 3 types of
emergency contraception: Ulipristal acetate (ella), Levonorgestrel (Plan B, EContra-EZ etc.)
and the Copper IUD (Paragard).

Updates to emergency contraception clinical guidelines with specific respect to BMI,
timing of hormonal birth control use, breastfeeding, and medical contraindications.

Brief overview of the current prevalence, incidence, and risk factors for sexually transmitted
infections throughout Minnesota.
