The Minnesota IAFN Chapter will award
three $500 scholarships to forensic nurses
from Minnesota to attend the annual

International Conference on Forensic Nursing Science and Practice 

Wednesday, October 24 – Saturday, October 27, 2018  in Reno, Nevada
Who May Apply? All Forensic Nurses practicing in Minnesota are encouraged to apply.
Scholarship applications need to be submitted by July 2, 2018
The applications will be evaluated by the MN IAFN Chapter Board.
The scholarship recipients  will be notified by email on July 16, 2018
Early registration discounted fee ends on July 31, 2018
($525 for IAFN members and  $650 for non-members)
The scholarships will be awarded after a copy of the conference registration
fee is submitted to

This course is designed for teams of two, consisting of one attorney and one forensic interviewer. Individual applicants will not be accepted. Teams will learn to work together in preparation for a child abuse trial. The course combines lectures and practical court exercises to enhance the ability of the forensic interviewer and prosecutor or civil child protection attorney to defend the forensic interview and multidisciplinary team investigation from attacks by the defense.

Join fellow law enforcement personnel, physicians, prosecutors, nurses,
victim advocates, crisis workers, criminalists, crime scene investigators,
forensic examiners, EMS personnel, and judges for this cutting-edge
clinical forensic conference. We will focus on a broad array of emerging
forensic issues, including sexual assault, interpersonal violence, ballistics,
strangulation, and child and elder abuse in both urban and rural

This year’s conference is designed to provide an interactive joint educational
opportunity and promising practices when working with victims of violence.
Topics will include working with multidisciplinary teams and learning
to consider all of the forensic implications on the street, in health care
settings, and in the courtroom. Violence is a health care crisis, so we will
focus on approaching clinical forensic issues in a collaborative, coordinated,
compassionate, competent, caring, victim-centered process.
